Recipe for Bomboloni Volcano

Making  Bomboloni Volcano at home is surprisingly simple. Let’s split the recipe into two steps, i.e., making dough and then making cream.

1. Making Dough

Simple yeast dough is used to make the dough, which is then rolled out and cut into rounds. The ingredients and quantity you need for the dough are given below:

  • Milk 200 ml
  • Seed oil 25 ml
  • Egg 1
  • Half fresh beer yeast (cube)
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • Flour 400 g
  • Salt per taste

To get the ideal form of dough, you can use a drinking glass or even a cookie cutter. After cutting out the doughnuts, give them time to rise before frying. Hot oil should be used to fry the Bomboloni until both sides are golden brown.

2. Making of Cream

Once the doughnuts are done, you may fill them with your preferred cream filling. Ingredients for cream are:

  • Milk 2.5 cups
  • Corn starch 30 g
  • sugar 100 g
  • Egg yolks 5
  • Vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon

Procedure

Put the sugar, vanilla, and egg yolks in a mixing bowl. Then stir it until each item is thoroughly incorporated. Cornstarch will now be added to the mixture, which will then be well combined. Take a pan, add the 2.5 cups of milk, and cook it until it is thoroughly heated before turning off the flame. Let it cool for a couple of minutes. Then, slowly add warm milk to the cream mixture.

Don’t forget to stir the mixture as you pour the milk because failing to do so might result in scrambled eggs and lumps, neither of which we want. Pour the mixture into the pan and simmer it for ten to fifteen minutes. Avoid heating up since lumps will develop. If the mixture has a creamy, thick consistency, turn off the heat and allow it to cool. Make a tiny hole in the bun with a knife, and then carefully pipe pastry cream into each  Bomboloni Volcano doughnut one at a time.

You can also use anything, including plain whipped cream, chocolate pudding, or Nutella. After filling them, quickly sprinkle them with powdered sugar, and then devour the scrumptious.

Where to Buy Bomboloni Volcano?
