If you’re new to Discord, or just want to know how to open a channel on Discord mobile, follow these steps:
- On the main screen of Discord on your smartphone or tablet, click on the three lines in the top left corner and select “Settings.”
- Select “Discord.”
- Under “Channels,” find and click on the “Create New Channel” button.
- Enter a name for your new channel and choose a color for it (you can also choose to enable voice chat). Click on the green “Create” button next to the channel’s name.
- If you want to join the channel right away, hit the “Join Channel” button next to its name and enter your Discord username in the text field that pops up. Alternatively, you can add the @discordappaccountname#channelname syntax (for example, @GabbyGoesToThe Movies) if you want to be alerted when someone joins or leaves the channel.
