GameStop is one of the largest retailers of video games and consoles today. But there’s more to it than just buying video games. I’m going to use personal stories and prewritten email templates to show you how this hustle worked.
I started my GameStop adventure a little over a year ago. I had just gotten PlayStation 4 and needed some games to go along with it. I wandered into GameStop, saw how much new games were, and quickly left. I wasn’t going to spend $60 on one video game! So, I went home and did some research.
I found out that you could trade in old games and get store credit to put towards new ones. And not just any old games- but old games that were popular at the time could be worth a lot more in store credit. So, I gathered up all of my old Xbox 360 and Wii games and took them back to GameStop. I ended up getting $140 in store credit! With that, I was able to buy 3 brand new PS4 games- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and NBA 2K14. And I still had $40 leftover in store credit!
I was hooked. From then on, I made it my mission to visit GameStop at least once a week to see what they had in stock and what new deals they were running. I became a regular customer and the employees started to recognize me. They would hold onto new releases for me and let me know when they got trade-ins that I might be interested in.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve successfully gamed the GameStop system for over a year. In that time, I’ve traded in old games, bought new ones, resold some games on eBay, and even turned a profit a few times.
Why GameStop is so addictive
It’s been a little over a year since I’ve made my last GameStop purchase. For anyone who hasn’t been to one, GameStop is like a video game crack den. It’s dark, it smells bad, and the people who work there always seem high on something. But despite all of that, I kept going back for more.
There are a few reasons why GameStop is so addictive. First of all, they always have the newest games. If you’re a gamer, then you know how important it is to be up-to-date on the latest releases. Secondly, they always have good deals on used games. If you’re like me and you don’t have a lot of money to spend on entertainment, then this is a great way to get your fix.
Lastly, and most importantly, GameStop offers a sense of community that other retailers just don’t have. When you walk into a GameStop, you know that everyone there shares your passion for gaming. It’s like walking into a room full of your best friends. That feeling of camaraderie is hard to find anywhere else.
So if you’re looking for your next gaming fix, make sure to head on down to your local GameStop. Just be warned: once you go in, it’s hard to leave empty-handed!
How the GameStop System works
The GameStop system is actually quite simple and elegant in its design. There are three main components to the system: the Central Database, the Retail Network, and the Processor.
The Central Database is the heart of the GameStop system. It’s a massive server that houses all of the game data for every title in the GameStop library. When a user wants to play a particular game, they send a request to the Central Database which then looks up the appropriate data and sends it back to the user’s device.
The Retail Network consists of all of the GameStop retail locations around the world. When a customer buys a game from a GameStop retail location, their purchase is registered in the Retail Network. The customer’s name, address, and credit card information is stored in the network so that when they want to buy another game, they can just walk into any GameStop and make their purchase without having to re-enter their information.
The Processor is the final component of the system. It’s a piece of hardware that sits between the Central Database and the Retail Network. The Processor takes care of all of the financial transactions between customers and retailers. When a customer buys a game from a retailer, their purchase is processed through the Processor which then sends them an email receipt and registers their purchase in both the Retail Network and Central Database .

They also take the time to get to know their customers and build relationships with them. Lastly, they are always learning and keeping up with the latest trends in the gaming industry. This combination of knowledge, customer service, and dedication is what makes for a successful GameStop employee.

How I got a 100% Employee Discount
I’m a pretty savvy shopper. I know how to work the system to get the best deals on the things I want. So, when I found out that GameStop offers a 100% employee discount, I knew I had to find a way to get it.
I started by asking around. I talked to friends who worked at GameStop and they told me that it was possible to get the discount if I applied for a job there. I did some research and found out that the process was pretty simple. I filled out an application online and was contacted by a manager within a few days.
Once I had my interview, it was just a matter of waiting for my background check to clear. As soon as it did, I started my first shift at GameStop! It’s been almost a year now and I’ve never once had to pay full price for anything at the store. It’s been an awesome experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great deal on video games!
I’m so grateful that I was able to learn how to GameStop for a full year straight. It’s been an amazing experience and I’ve learned so much. I’m also grateful for the community of people who have helped me along the way, including the teachers, mentors, and friends who have supported me. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their gaming dreams and never give up.
